Cosmetic Tattoo

To achieve the best possible treatment outcome, a client needs to adhere to the following After
Care instructions:

Absorb (Day of)

  • After the procedure if you notice excess amounts of lymph fluid (oozing) from the area, gently blot with a clean tissue or damp cotton pad to absorb fluid.
  • Do this every 5-10 minutes until the oozing has stopped.
  • Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids.

Wash (Days 1-7)

  • Wash daily to remove bacteria, build up of product and oils, and dead skin. (Don’t worry, THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!)
  • Gently wash the area each morning and night with water and gentle soap or an unscented cleanser. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the area.
  • Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away.
  • To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants.

Moisturize and hydrate (Days 1-7)

  • Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of aftercare cream 3 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area.
  • Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin.
  • NEVER put the product on a wet or damp tattoo.

Important Reminders

  • Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away.
  • Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour.
  • No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
  • Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when
    outdoors.
  • Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.
  • Avoid face-down swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days
  • Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area.
  • DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area.

Important Instructions for Showering

  • Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair.
  • Your face should only be getting wet only at the end of the shower.
  • Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

EYEBROWS

  • Whilst brows are healing refrain from using make up over the area. When applying foundation be careful to apply around the area avoiding the eyebrows.
  • Once eyebrows are fully healed (10 days) you may continue to use brow pencil/powder if need be to fill any spots that may have faded. You may also continue to wax or tint up until 2 days before your touch up.

EYELINER

  • If you wear contact lenses, we advise you to arrange transport home or use glasses. The contacts should not be replaced for a minimum of two hours or until eyes are settled.
  • When you resume using mascara it is recommended to purchase a new tube.
  • Do not use eyelash curler or mascara for a period of 7 -10 days.
  • Do not apply eyelash extensions again until 2 weeks after. It is best to keep extensions off until after your touch up appointment

Tattoo Lightening / Removal Aftercare

It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring and to achieve optimum results.  Please read carefully.

KEEP AREA CLEAN and open to the air. Do not cover with a band aid or anything else. Air/oxygen provides good and faster healing.  You should not be touching the area at all but if you find yourself needing to please make sure your hand are exceptionally clean.

DO NOT SOAK the treated area in water.  You can shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few seconds.  No soaking in water or the scab will get destroyed.

NO BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING OR INTENSE EXERCISE.

DO NOT DISRUPT the scabbing process (ie. No picking, scratching etc.) All scabbing needs to fall off naturally.  If you force or pick a scab off, you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring.

TREAT AREA WITH TLC.  The edges can be wiped clean from any dripping blood, the sire should be left alone and not get wet for 24 hours.  Once the scab is formed bathing is normal but wash the area gently with the fingers and sap and rinse.  Keep the area clean and absolutely no creams, nothing applied leave it alone.  If it itches and is a safe area other than around the eyes dab with a little alcohol.

ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATUALLY FALLEN OFF, apply one drop of SNT aftercare oil, twice a day, every day for a minimum of 4 weeks or until next session.  DO NOT start applying the vitamin E oil UNTIL all scabbing has completely fallen off.  It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off.

LIPS please drink all liquids with a straw until all scabbing has naturally fallen off.  No whitening, no peroxide toothpastes.  Cut food into small bites… no biting into a sandwich.  Try to keep mouth expressions to a minimum.

Lightening and/or removing pigment can be a long process and patience is required.

Please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work.  It can take up to 6 sessions to fully remove pigment.

How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted and how much needs to be removed for the desired result.  In many cases only a percentage of the density needs to be lightened/removed and then we can continue the correction process by colour correcting.

Results can not be foreseen, predicted or guaranteed.

Pro-Stamp / Pro-Liner / Skin Needling

Immediately after needling the skin will appear red and will look flushed or mildly sunburnt.

Bruising or areas of pinpoint bleeding may be apparent if the client has had a deeper treatment in certain areas of the skin.

The skin will feel tight and dry, and can also appear slightly puffy, especially around the eyes.

Our Moisturizing Hyaluronic Acid Serum is a good soothing moisturizer at this point.

Only a medicated, breathable makeup can be applied immediately post procedure, and no sunscreen is to be applied the day of treatment.

The following day the skin will still appear to be red, upon waking there is likely to be mild inflammation and swelling around the eyes.

Mineral make up and SPF can be applied.

On day 3, the swelling will subside, skin can still be slightly pink, and if any bruising occurred during the treatment it should start to lighten.

Clients may now return to regular skin care products as recommended by their technician. Active ingredients (eg: retinols and vitamin C) should be avoided for 7 days, alcohol-based toners should be avoided for 10-14 days and acids (e.g.: glycolic, lactic, AHA’s and BHA’s) are only recommended 14 days after treatment however avoiding exfoliation altogether up until your follow up is preferred.

Days 4-6 there is minimal, if any, redness and swelling. Dry and flakey skin is normal at this point.

Normally by day 7, very few signs of treatment are visible in most clients.

We recommend you avoid the following activities 48 hours post procedure:

  • Sun exposure
  • Intense exercise or gym that may cause sweating
  • Sauna, hot baths/showers, spa
  • Self-tanning
  • Swimming in pool or ocean
  • Chemical peels, muscle relaxants or dermal fillers (recommended minimum 5 day wait post treatment)
  • Other facial treatments (avoid for minimum 7 days)
  • Occasionally clients with a history of cold sores may have an outbreak post procedure and may need to take an antiviral before treatment.
  • Small pustule outbreaks may also occur as well as some bruising.

Most commonly clients will experience redness, stinging, dryness and flaking after needling

You will experience moderate to strong skin peeling for up to 4 days. Once your skin starts peeling, DO NOT PULL the skin, let it shed naturally.

Do not wash your skin for 24 hours post treatment.

At 24 hours you may use a gentle cleanser and apply the repair cream provided.

After 24 hours cleanse morning and night followed by the Hyaluronic acid provided and hydrating moisturizer.

Avoid direct sun exposure.

Avoid exercising for 24-48 hours.

Avoid touching your skin.

Do not apply any active products e.g. retinols, glycolics, AHA’s or BHA’s.

Ensure you are applying moisturizer and sunblock daily to keep your skin hydrated and protected.

*Skin peeling may result in temporary skin sensitivity.

Please avoid any form of exfoliation before your follow up appointment.

Helpful tip: change to a clean pillowcase to avoid bacterial transfer after treatment

Immediately after the treatment, small, usually non-bleeding scabs, (which can be covered with light mineral make-up after 48 hours) can be seen.

In the first 1 to 3 days after the treatment, swelling of different severity may occur. After 5 to 7 days, the small brown dots resulting from treatment and wound healing have disappeared. Light redness can be visible for 4-8 weeks.

In extreme cases (especially if a client failed to follow the aftercare advice), swelling can last several days and initially interfere with vision.

On rare occasions, there have been reports of hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to the local anesthetic, wound healing problems, skin infections, scarring, slight swelling, redness, tingling, the occurrence of herpes simplex (cold sore) and skin depigmentation (whitening).  Please inform your technician immediately if there are signs of infection such as excessive redness, pus, blisters or thick, yellow crusts or if any other unexpected side effects occur in the post-treatment period.

Never pick or scratch!

It is important that the resulting scabs/crusts are not removed. (Never scratch, it may result in scarring)

Day of treatment

You can use ice packs on the evening of your treatment if needed, 10 mins on 10 mins off.  Ensure the ice pack is covered with a tissue so the treated area is not getting wet from the condensation

After eye lift treatments it is recommended that you sleep elevated for the first 2-3 nights, this will help the lymph fluid drain away.

Do not cover with plasters or occlusive dressings.

If you notice any weeping from the small scabs use a tissue to gently dab the area dry. Repeat as necessary.

Any burning sensation will soon reduce. Anti-inflammatory/antihistamine medication can help.

Until the scabs fall off

Keep the area dry until scabs have naturally fallen off.

Apply Gold aftercare sachet morning & night with a cotton bud (do not over saturate the skin – only rice grain size is needed)

You can apply mineral foundation to camouflage scabs but it is not recommended.

Once scabs have fallen off

Cleanse your skin as usual.

Use the advanced healing gel twice a day for 4 weeks. Apply makeup as usual.

After the crusts peel off, a new, pink skin emerges. This skin must be protected from direct sunlight with a high UV protection factor (50+) for at least 3 months.

Sports, swimming and saunas are only permitted once all the crusts have fallen off and the wound is completely closed/dry. The after-care is the most important part of the treatment and must be observed.

For smokers, a considerable deterioration of the blood flow in the wound area can occur, which significantly increases the risk of wound healing problems or a slowed wound healing!

Note that after the crusts have fallen off, a slight redness and light pitting may remain, It usually takes 4-6 weeks until the skin regains its normal color; it can however take 2 to 3 months depending on the skin type and the individual.

It is not recommended to wash the face or use any moisturisers or makeup for 24 hours.

  • Avoid sun exposure for 7-10 days following your treatment.
  • Avoid steamy showers, spas, saunas or swimming pools for 7 days.
  • Avoid exfoliating the skin for 7 days.
  • Avoid excessive exercise or anything that may cause you to perspire for 48-72 hours as this will affect the product penetration.

Do not touch or rub skin immediately after treatment. Allow what is on the surface of the skin to absorb as much as possible.

After 24 hours you may gently cleanse the face and moisturise with the repair cream provided. Please ensure you are using a gentle cleanser with light pressure. Avoid any use of products that contain retinol, glycolic and AHA’s or BHA’s for 7 days.

It is strongly encouraged to keep treatments 2-3 weeks apart for optimal results.

*We recommend you change to a fresh and clean pillowcase to prevent cross contamination
